Disturbia

This is my hometown, Colorado Springs. 347 houses were lost within about 6 hours on Tuesday this week due to the Waldo Canyon Fire. My mom asked me to return home indefinitely because this happened 7 miles from her house (where I grew up) and the evacuation zone was less than 3 miles away. 

Returning home, after a year of absence, to a city covered in smoke has been beyond surreal. Even more surreal and upsetting is that standing in the backyard you can see several of the fires with the naked eye, not just smoke, but actual fire.
